Pierre

Pierre Dalais is a Mauritian-born architectural graduate based in Sydney.

He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Sydney.

Pierre completed his Bachelor of Architecture in the UK, worked in Paris, and continued his studies in Australia.
His architectural interests centre on ideas of place, culture, and identity, informed by vernacular traditions and the impacts of globalisation.
Ideas developed through his thesis “Reimagining Urban Vernacular", which was recognised through multiple awards.

He undertook research in France with Lacaton & Vassal, developing a deep interest in adaptive reuse, material economy, and low-tech methodologies. Professionally, he gained experience in landscape and urbanism in Paris, contributing to masterplans and public-space projects. In Sydney, he worked with Aileen Sage Architects on competitions, private homes, and public buildings.

Pierre currently works at CHROFI Architects in Sydney, working on large scale residential and commercial projects, while continuing to develop his photographic practice in parallel.
